After extensively researching the best way to bring our case management into the 21st century, we adopted Clio as our case management system. It provides bank grade 256-bit SSL encryption combined with enterprise-class data security and redundancy to ensure the safety of sensitive data. Clio allows us to securely and quickly access client and case information anywhere without walking to the file cabinet, pulling out a file, and leafing through it to find what we need. Eric K. Frost, our resident computer expert and document manager, accomplished the daunting task of entering our existing case information as well as our closed files.

Take a Business-like Approach to Custody and Visitation
Instead of arguing over who gets the children on which days, approach these issues like you would approach a business negotiation. Have a plan for what you want for the children and yourself. Figure out the best way to get what you want. If you approach it as a battle, both sides are likely to dig in their heels and be reluctant to talk frankly and compromise. Instead, ask yourself how you should behave when dealing with your ex in order to achieve what you want. Badgering, raising your voice, and repeating the same points are not the road to success. Listening to their side, explaining what is important to you and why, and keeping your focus on your goal - more time with your kids - is likely to yield the best results.
